5.4 Context Does Not Load

When an entire context fails to load, the servlet container is typically unable to process the web.xml file for the context. To correct this problem:

• Check the log file to determine whether the container reports errors with the context directory or web.xml file. To correct this problem, make sure that:

• The context directory is located beneath the webapps directory.

• The context directory contains a WEB-INF directory.

• The WEB-INF directory contains a web.xml file.

• The container has read permission on the context directory, the WEB-INF directory, and the web.xml file.
