12.1 Overview

HydraExpress supports both global logging provided by default by HydraSCA, as well as the Web service-specific logging supported on both the client-side and server-side by HydraExpress.

The global log file, agent.log, is instantiated automatically when the HydraExpress is started. The Agent uses this logger to record significant events related to general Agent processes and service execution.

You can also implement the HydraExpress Web service-specific logging (webservice.log) to log information from any custom Web service handler or Web service that you write.

This chapter discusses how to implement the HydraExpress Web service-specific logging only. For information on the global logger, see Chapter 6, "Agent Logging," in the Introduction to HydraExpress.
