2.18 Using Static Libraries with MS SQL Server and DB2 CLI Access Modules

If you are using static libraries, and you want to use the MS SQL Server Access Module with the DB2 CLI Access Module, you will encounter multiply-defined symbols when trying to link your application. Each of the clients supplied by these vendors defines the ODBC functions, thus resulting in multiple definitions.

To enable the use of more than one of the above access modules in the same application when using static libraries, you must enable runtime loading of the driver when building each of the access modules.

For information on enabling runtime loading of the ODBC driver, see Installing and Building Your SourcePro C++ Products User's Guide located at buildspace/docs\html\rcbbd\index.html
