A.1 Introduction

HTTP changed significantly between versions 1.0 and 1.1. Many of these changes could not be implemented under the HTTP/1.0 architecture, so a new architecture was developed for the HTTP/1.1 classes. Some of the basic structure still exists, but you might need to make substantial changes to your code in order to migrate your application from the previous classes to the new HTTP/1.1 classes. For more information about the new architecture, see Chapter 5, "The HTTP Package,"


The following HTTP class migrations are shown to illustrate the types of changes made to all HTTP classes from version 1.0 to 1.1. The changes shown in the following sections are consistent with the changes made to all HTTP classes, therefore documentation of all HTTP class changes is not necessary.
