WzHistogram Overview

The WzHistogram Tool is used to visualize quantitative trends in large amounts of 1D, 2D, or 3D data. You can create a histogram for any non-scalar variable of these types:

byte

float ( single or double-precision)

integer (or long integer)

note	Not all of the data can have the same value. For example, a 2D array of zeroes is unacceptable.

Specify the name of a variable at the WAVE> prompt when you start the WzHistogram Tool.

note	Avoid using the PV‑WAVE DEVICE command at the WAVE> command line when VDA Tools are running.

WzHistogram Features

The WzHistogram Tool offers options for enhancing the appearance of the histogram. For instance, you can use color to highlight your data, and the VDA Tool’s graphical features allow you to annotate the histogram with lines, rectangles, ellipses, and text. You can change the range of data in both the X and Y directions.

note	Don’t forget to check the message area at the bottom of the WzHistogram window. The message area displays helpful information about whatever task you are performing.
