Scaling Data Values to Available Range of Colors
More often than not, the data to be analyzed has not been previously scaled. WzImage automatically scales the range of data values to fit in the range of available color indices in the current color table. The data itself is not changed, just the method for displaying it is.
By default, the WzImage Tool automatically expands or compresses the data values to fill a range of colors. You can specify the range of color indices for scaling the data, as follows:
1. Select Attributes=>View Attributes.
In the View Attributes dialog box, the Scale Image Values button is selected as the default. The Min. Color and Max. Color default settings correspond to the first color index and the last color index (respectively) in the image color range.

note
An additional 20 or so colors (those in the Plot Color table) are available at the bottom end of the Min. Color scale.
2. You can narrow the range of color indices for scaling by adjusting the Min. Color scale up and/or the Max. Color scale down. You could also increase the color indices range from the default range by adjusting the Min. Color scale lower by any of these three methods.
*Double click MB1 in the Min. Color slider text field, type the lower index number and then press <Return> to apply the change.
*Press and drag MB1 on the slider.
*Position the pointer in the slider track and click MB1. The scale slider is adjusted by approximately 10% of the maximum scale value for each MB1 click.
3. Click Apply to accept the change, or OK to accept the change and dismiss the View Attributes dialog box.
