WzPlot Overview

The WzPlot tool is used to plot one or more variables.

By default, the values in the variables are plotted along the Y axis, and unit spacing is assumed along the X axis. In other words, the first Y value is displayed at x = 0.0, and all other values are spaced evenly from that point on, using a spacing of 1.0.

To determine the range of the data plotted, WzPlot uses the maximum value found in all of the imported variables.

note	Avoid using the PV‑WAVE DEVICE command at the WAVE> command line when VDA Tools are running.

WzPlot Features

The WzPlot Tool offers options for enhancing the appearance of the plot. For instance, you can use color and plot symbols to highlight or emphasize your data, and the VDA Tool’s graphical features allow you to annotate the plot with lines, rectangles, ellipses, text, and legends. You can change the range of data in both the X and Y directions.

If WzPlot Tool is started with the Independent keyword, then the other variables are plotted against the specified independent variable. The independent variable corresponds to the horizontal axis and the dependent variable to the vertical axis.

note	Don’t forget to check the message area at the bottom of the WzPlot window. The message area displays helpful information about whatever task you are performing.
