If you choose None, a single-threaded build is created. The other choices available depend on the threading libraries supported by your choice of operating system (for example, Windows supports only Win32, but Solaris supports posix, and solaris threads).

If None is missing or the only choice, it is because a response to an earlier question either requires or forbids multithreading.
