The docking views architecture is ideal for the Workbook Document Interface (WDI). The mdi sample program in the <stingray-installdir>Samples\Toolkit\MFC\DockingViews\Bounce subdirectory demonstrates integrating docking views into a WDI application.

The Floating Document Interface and the Multiple Top-Level Interface are not suited for the concept of docking views. These MDI alternatives act as multiple SDI windows with frames classes that do not support docking containment.
