Getting Help
Several avenues of help are available to you when working with Objective Chart.
Documentation
The documents listed below provide information about the features and use of Objective Chart. They are available in HTML format at <stingray-installdir>\Docs, via the index.html file.
*User's and Programmer’s Guide The Objective Chart User’s Guide provides an overview of Objective Chart architecture and features. A tutorial shows how charting capabilities can be added to a standard MFC application. Numerous “how-to” instructions and figures illustrate how various style settings affect the appearance of the chart. The User’s Guide focuses on the configuration and display of a standard Objective Chart.
The Programmer's Guide is an advanced manual for Objective Chart. The more advanced features of Objective Chart, which are not required for most applications, are described. In particular, techniques for extending the capabilities of Objective Chart are discussed.
*Class Reference— The Objective Chart Class Reference is a detailed description of the classes and methods in Objective Chart.
*Samples — Objective Chart ships with a variety of samples. These samples are described briefly in Chapter 28, “Objective Chart Sample Applications.” Sample Chart applications are located in the <stingray-installdir>\Samples\Chart directory.
For more information on the documentation, see “Product Documentation” in the Stingray Studio Getting Started User’s Guide.
NOTE >> Throughout this manual and other Objective Chart documentation, the small polygonal symbols used to display data items on line and scatter graphs are called “wigets” and purposefully not “widgets.”
